Week in Review: August 24th, 2012

Shabbat shalom!  A couple of exciting announcements this week:  Congregation Har HaShem was able to come to an understanding with the City of Boulder to allow their summer homeless program to continue; and the Boulder JCC and Menorah announced the launching of the Boulder Jewish Film Festival in 2013.

If you or someone in your family is from Detroit, you won’t want to miss the author visit on Monday at the Boulder Book Store.

And, we are officially into the month of Elul, when Jews prepare for the High Holidays.  BJN invites our readers and authors to post some reflections of Elul… topics for the upcoming week include Prayer, Blessing, Memory, Change, Image and Excuses.

Have a great shabbat and weekend.  Here are this week’s stories:

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
