This Week for CU’s Jewish Buffs – 3/4

Continuing through March 8th, the Program in Jewish Studies at CU is hosting its Week of Jewish Culture featuring many interesting guests and speakers. For more information visit the Program in Jewish Studies website.

Monday

Chabad’s Talmud Study, The Laboratory of Jewish Law at 1:00 pm in the at the CU Center For Community.

Tuesday

Chabad’s Learn to pray and your chance to put on Tefillin, at 8:00 am with bagels and lox at the NEW Chabad House. New Chabad house is located at 909 14th St.

Chabad’s “Ethics of Our Fathers”  at 12:30 pm. The cornerstone of Jewish thought and a powerful guidepost for every Jew attempting to perfect his or her character and behavior at the CU Center For Community.

Hillel’s weekly Tuesday night dinner along with a discussion with Rabbi Mechachem at 6:00 pm. Hillel is located at 2795 Colorado Ave.

Wednesday

Chabad’s Advanced Study of the Weekly Torah Portion at 11:00 am in the at the CU Center For Community.

Hillel’s “Free Jewish Advice” from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the CU Center For Community – Colorado Room.

CU’s Week of Jewish Culture Ginzburg Geography Display with visiting artist Jewlia Eisenberg followed by  “The Life and Work of Michel Fingesten” with CU Professor Davide Stimilli at 7:00 pm in the Black Box Theater in the ATLAS Building.

Chabad’s 7th annual Purim Party at Old Chicago on 1102 Pearl St. in the green room. Megillah reading at 9:00 pm along with a costume contest and Hamantashen!

Hillel’s Purim Party, at the AEPi house. Megillah reading at 9:00 pm. AEPi is located at 1150 10th St.

Thursday

Chabad’s Festive Purim dinner at the old Chabad House at 5:30 pm. Chabad is located at 775 17th Street.

CU’s Week of Jewish Culture special Purim Performance, Charming Hostess in Concert “Music Inspired by the Ginzburg Geography” at 7:30 pm in the Black Box Theater in the ATLAS Building. Tickets: $5/students; $10/community in advance; a limited number of $15 tickets will be available at  the door. Purchase your tickets on line here.  Space is limited so secure your tickets early!

Help bake challah for Challah For Hunger at Hillel from 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm.

Chabad’s Weekly Torah Study at Starbucks at University at 8:00 pm.

Friday

Hillel’s Conservative Shabbat services are at 5:30 pm, followed by Torah reading at 6:10 pm. Reform services at 6:15. Dinner is at 7:00 pm.

Chabad’s Shabbat services are at 7:00 pm. Dinner is at 7:30 pm. Chabad is located at 775 17th Street.
