Denver, CO. The Mountain States Region of the Anti-Defamation League will present its Boulder Community Builder Award to Sara-Jane Cohen at a luncheon in Boulder on Friday, August 10.
Sara-Jane Cohen is one of the founders of ADL’s Boulder Steering Committee and one of its past chairs. Sara-Jane has been building and strengthening the Boulder community since she and her husband Bill arrived in 1969. Sara-Jane was a founder of Boulder Action for Soviet Jewry, a member of Boulder’s Human Relations Commission, President of the Boulder Chapter of Hadassah, and a volunteer with the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless. She helped form the Boulder Women’s Bar Association and sat on the board of the Boulder County Bar Association.
Sara-Jane is a visionary leader in the Boulder Community,” said ADL Regional Director Scott L. Levin. “When she sees a need, she does something about it, whether it is working with an existing organization or starting one from scratch. She has been an invaluable resource for ADL and so many other groups in Boulder County.”
Former ADL Community Director Amy Stein will present the award to Sara-Jane at the luncheon.
The event will also feature a keynote address by Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett, who has been a leader in supporting hate crimes laws and prosecuting perpetrators of hate crimes in Boulder County.
