Hysteria repeats itself with renowned comedian Joel Chasnoff Oct. 25

Joel Chasnoff knows from funny. Kirkus Review says his comedy is “horrifyingly hilarious.” Renowned author A.J. Jacobs calls him “The Jewish Jarhead.” The Jarhead himself, New York Times’ writer and author of “Jarhead,” Anthony Swofford, said “Chasnoff does for the IDF what O’Brien did for the war in Vietnam.”
A Jewish comedian whose unique brand of humor has impressed everyone from the president of Yeshiva University to the Washington Post, will bring down the house at a benefit for at Hillel of Colorado, “LOL With Colorado Hillel.”
The second annual comedy fundraising event will be held Thursday, October 25th at 6:30 p.m. at the Curtis Ballroom at the Landmark/Comedy Works South, 5345 Landmark Pace, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.
Chasnoff went on tour with and opened for Jon Stewart and Lewis Black of “The Daily Show.” He is best known for his no-holds barred memoir, “The 188th Crybaby Brigade: A Skinny Chicago Kid Fights Hezbollah,” a humorous account of his one-year stint as a volunteer in the Israeli army. His work is featured in “The Idiot’s Guide to Jokes” and “The Big Book of Jewish Humor: 25th Anniversary Edition“. He is currently writing a cookbook with two-time “Chopped!” champ, Israeli chef Einat Admony.
The last time Chasnoff played Denver, audience members laughed so hard they cried, and several nearly lost control of their bladders. His stand-up routine includes material from his experiences in the Israeli army and growing up Jewish in Chicago, and appeals to 20-somethings, the greatest generation, and everyone in between.
Tickets to the benefit are $125 per person and include pre-show hors d’ouevres and drinks, followed by a post-show dessert reception. Sponsorship opportunities follow and include a VIP reception with Chasnoff:
