BJCF Grant Request Deadline Friday

BJCF 2012 Funding Opportunities

The Boulder Jewish Community Foundation (BJCF) maintains an endowment fund, the income from which is designated for assisting Jewish communal organizations in Boulder to offset costs of office and program space.  Each year, the BJCF solicits applications for these funds.

Last year we assisted 17 organizations and allocated $13,290.  These grants ranged from $250 to $2,500.

This year we will be awarding funds for:

  1. Assistance with the costs of program or office space.
  2. Assistance with the costs of program space for an “offsite” fundraiser or event.
  3. Investments in the improvement or upgrade of your building and grounds.

As there are many more requests for funding than there are funds and we are rarely able to fully fund a given program we strongly encourage, and will give preference  to, grant requests for funds that will be used for matching grant purposes and/or requests that benefit multiple Boulder Jewish organizations (e.g. Boulder Jewish Festival).  [Matching grant definition: For each dollar we provide you, we request your organization raise a minimum of one dollar.  Your organization may choose to leverage the amount of money granted to you at greater than one dollar for every dollar provided.]

All grant requests must be for funds that will be expended prior to the next grant cycle for the purpose they are granted.  If there are any funds granted that are not used prior to the next grant cycle please notify the BJCF.   If a grant is awarded a statement of use of funds and matching , if applicable, will need to be provided no later than your next request for funds from the BJCF.

If your organization, or an organization you are aware of, could benefit from assistance please send a one-page written request to boulderjewish@gmail.com.  We ask that all requests be received by July 6th.  In your submission please indicate how much is being requested, explain the intended purpose, and outline the anticipated impact of the allocation and the matching funds opportunity, if any.  Also include:

    • Organization name, address, and evidence of your current 501(c)3 status,
    • Name, email address and phone number of contact.

We plan to make awards in September 2012.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
