This Week for CU’s Jewish Buffs

Boulder is in for a beautiful, warm week and its CU Jewish Buffs are in for another busy week. Don’t miss the fun activities CU’s Jewish community is hosting this week.

Monday

Chabad is beginning this semester’s Food for Thought Lecture Series with the topic “Organ Transplant in Jewish Law” at 7:30 p.m. The lecture will be given by Rabbi Benji Brackman, of Chabad of Northwest Denver in the new Chabad house on 909 14th Street. A Chinese dinner will be served.

Tuesday

Don’t miss out on the trip of a life time! Taglit Birthright registration opens at 8:00 a.m. Don’t forget to sign up.

Hillel’s Weekly BBQ is at 6:00 p.m. at Hillel, located at 2785 Colorado Avenue.

Wednesday

Chabad holds a Jewish Law class in the Center for Community on CU’s campus at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday

Chabad also has a Talmud class in the Center for Community on CU’s campus at 11:00 a.m.

In addition, Chabad holds its “Latte & Learning” class at Starbucks on University at 8:00 p.m.

The Program in Jewish Studies invites students and faculty of the Jewish Studies Certificate Program for a private discussion and lunch reception with Jewish Studies Professor Zilla Goodman held in McKenna 103 at 1:00 p.m. Discuss Jewish Law and traditional Jewish views on sexuality over a vegetarian catered lunch. Friday

Hillel’s Shabbat services are at 6:00 pm. The meal starts at 7:00 pm.

Chabad’s Shabbat services are at 7:00 pm. The meal starts at 7:30 pm. Chabad is located at 775 17th Street.

Starting late February, Chabad is starting a Jewish Bowling League. Only $20 per person for a minimum of 18 games. Visit their website for more info.

Crowdfunding Campaign for Camp Scholarships Begins March 6

On March 6 and 7, the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) will host its annual crowdfunding fundraiser called Tzedakah 4 Kids (T4K). T4K is a two-day long effort to raise money for the Robert E. Loup Scholarship Fund.
