Series on the Five Megillot: Book of Ruth
with Morah Yehudis Fishman,
Thursday, May 19 7:00 pm — 8:30 pm
We will take an in-depth look at The Book of Ruth, the special scriptural scroll read and studied for Shavuot. This book, a beautiful story on its own, is read and studied on the day we became the People of the Book and of laws. Ironically, the Talmud points out that there are no laws mentioned in Ruth. Also, we note that there is controversy surrounding her conversion, and she has mysterious links to King David and the Messiah. Come learn about these issues and more in a class that will leave you with answers and, if we’re lucky, even more questions.
