Week in Review: July 23rd, 2010

Shabbat Shalom! It’s hard to believe that the summer is about 2/3 over. Camps are into their second half sessions, grant information for the coming year is starting to come out, Tisha B’Av is past.

Earlier this week, the national organization American Jewish Congress laid off remaining staff, effectively closing after more than 90 years. In other news, the vote in Israel on the conversion bill appears to be delayed for several months.

On a more positive note, local teens continue to prep for the Denver JCC Maccabi Games which begin on August 1. Many Boulder-area families are involved, as athletes, host families and volunteers. Registration is needed even for attending the competitions – more info is available here.

Have a peaceful Shabbat!

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
