Shabbat Shalom! Chanukah is great fun for all ages, and our community certainly showed up for Chanukah this year.
December 8 was Colorado Gives Day – interesting that it fell during Chanukah. In case you haven’t heard the wrap-up, over $8 million was raised online for Colorado nonprofits – in one 24-hour period. Thank you to all who participated and donated, whether online or at various locations around town.
In Israel, the Carmel Fire was contained, though the Carmel Forest is now off-limits. Many organizations are also raising money for relief efforts there (we had heard about a text-to-give code, like during the Haiti earthquake, but have been unable to verify it as legit – if you know, please leave a comment below). Given recent local events, many here in Boulder feel a special connection to those affected by this Israeli wildfire disaster.
Next week is finals week at CU and in schools around town. Good luck to students on their exams and to teachers winding up the semester. Enjoy the weekend!
