Shabbat Shalom! Elul has arrived, and the community is starting to get into that High Holidays frame of mind. The Boulder Jewish News is preparing for the coming holidays by gathering information about services and events in and around Boulder, as well as posting interesting High Holiday-themed writing. We encourage the community to share stories about your High Holiday experience in Boulder, or somewhere else; family traditions that you miss or that you brought with you; people you’d like to remember during this season.
Two community events that you might want to catch this weekend: today (Friday) at 11:30 am the new kosher dining facility at CU’s Center for Community (C4C) building debuts in a soft opening, and they’d like to have some customers to try it out. Rabbi Wilhelm of Chabad at CU will be there to supervise in more ways than one. On Sunday, there is a Back to School Picnic at the Boulder Jewish Day School, where Executive Leader Daniel Bennett will proudly show off the renovations that were done by the staff and volunteers over the summer and introduce the staff for the 2010-2011 school year. The picnic runs from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, and BJDS will provide drinks and dessert (bring your own lunch; in keeping with their kashrut policy, please no meat or shellfish.)
See you around town!
