The Times of Harvey Milk – MoVeRs at the MoViEs

MoVeRs at the MoVies presents the final film in this four week series, “The Times of Harvey Milk” this Saturday, January 29 at 7 PM at the Boulder JCC. This Oscar-winning documentary film covers the successful career and tragic assassination of San Francisco’s first openly gay man to be elected to office. Directed by Rob Epstein and narrated by Harvey Fierstein, the film documents Milk’s rise from a neighborhood activist to a symbol of gay political achievement, through to his assassination at San Francisco’s city hall, and the Dan White trial and aftermath, interweaving newsreel footage and personal interviews to construct a compelling portrait of these turbulent times.

Gregg Drinkwater, executive director of Jewish Mosaic: The National Center for Sexual & Gender Diversity will lead an after-film discussion. This film is $6 for Boulder JCC members, $8 for guests and free for students with valid student id.

MoVeRs at the MoViEs is a project of Menorah at the Boulder JCC and is presented in conjunction with the year long series, MoVeRs: Jewish Mavericks, Visionaries & Rebels. On-line tickets and additional information can be found at
