“Taste of Jewish Italy” Is Taste of Heaven

Close to a hundred people hungry for Italian-Jewish cuisine, music and stories crowded the Boulder JCC Sunday night for one of Menorah’s Festival of Books and Culture signature events: “A Taste of Jewish Italy.

The evening featured informative talks about Italian-Jewish history and culture from Professor Carlos Zarur, interspersed between courses of Italian-Jewish food and wine, a fascinating film, and a concert of Italian-Jewish music.

See our earlier article for a rundown on the menu, and BJN has been assured that the recipes will be made available for us to post here soon.

Likewise, you can review singer Faye Nepon’s biography from this article, but she gave a bellissima performance, singing Jewish songs from Italy in Italian and Hebrew.  She was very ably accompanied by Sheldon Sands on piano and Anthony Salvo, an Italian violinist.

Also in action at the BJCC tonight was the Book Fair Store and the Congregation Bonai Shalom Chanukah Bazaar.

As always, here is our slideshow of pictures from the evening:

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
