Pearl St. Menorah Lighting Honors Firemen

Bruce Wildman presents check to the Fourmile Canyon Fire Department.

Chabad Lubavitch of Boulder held their annual Menorah Lighting on Pearl St. on a balmy (for November) Thursday night.  The ceremony was dedicated to the firefighter-heroes of the Fourmile Canyon Fire Department, who were on hand with one of their remaining trucks.

Bruce Wildman, President of the Boulder Jewish Community Foundation, presented a $5,000 check to the firefighters as a gift from the Boulder Jewish community to go towards replacing the fire truck the department lost in the Fourmile Fire in September.

Jonathan Lev lights two for the second night.

The festivities included music by Sheldon Sands, a performance of the Boulder Jewish Day School choir, and a “guess how many oranges are in the giant dreidel” raffle.  The two candles for the second night of Chanukah were lit by new Boulder JCC Executive Director Jonathan Lev.

More pictures and video of the choir will be posted after Shabbat.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
