Intro to Judaism Class Now Enrolling

Derech Chayim, A Way of Life, will begin the 2010/11 course on August 22nd. This 10-month course is a great introduction/re-introduction to Jewish life, thought and the holiday cycle. This course is taught by local rabbis representing the orthodox, conservative, reform, reconstruction and renewal movements, in addition to other highly qualified teachers. In the course of the year, students learn about each of the Jewish holidays, with hands-on workshops for Shabbat and Passover preparation. We also offer pre-class panels on topics of special interest, opportunities for Torah study and the Hebrew Marathon to help students learn to read in Hebrew.

This course, for adult learners,  can be very helpful for family members who are wanting to learn more about Judaism and for those who are inter-dating. If you know someone who would like to learn more about Judaism or who is considering conversion, this class is a great first step allowing them to learn and ask questions in an open and welcoming environment. It has also been helpful for those returning or refreshing their Jewish practice.

For more information, email office@boulderhaver.org or visit our website boulderhaver.org where you can also register for the course online. Derech Chayim is sponsored by Haver, the Boulder Rabbinic Fellowship.
