Inspiration: Vote for This Local Video
As suggested by the January 25th BOULDER JEWISH NEWS, the Jewish Genealogical Society of Colorado submitted our new video into an international “Jews That Do” contest sponsored by Leadel.net about inspiration, and we’re currently in fifth place!
There are several Boulder Valley Jewish faces that appear in the video including Rabbi Josh Rose, Howard Steinmetz, Gary Sobol, Risa Heywood, Buzzy Jackson and Ellen Kowitt.
Viewers can watch and vote for the video more than once by clicking on all five gray dots above the score or in the drop down box at:
The Tracing the Tribe Blog (out of Israel) ran a nice piece about it… check it out too!
Please take a look, vote and pass the link onto your friends and family. Let’s win one for Colorado!
Before local anti-Jewish laws were enacted, before neighborhood shops and synagogues were destroyed, and before Jews were forced into ghettos, cattle cars, and camps, words were used to stoke the fires of hate. #ItStartedWithWords is a digital, Holocaust education campaign posting weekly videos of survivors from around the world reflecting on those moments that led up to the Holocaust – a period of time when they could not have predicted the ease with which their long-time neighbors, teachers, classmates, and colleagues would turn on them, transitioning from words of hate to acts of violence.
