Gaston Hayoun z”l

Gaston Hayoun, Sassi ben Victor v’Rachel, father of Sylvain Hayoun, passed away on Monday morning December 13, 2010 (6 Tevet 5771)  in Paris, France at age 98. Gaston was born in Tunis, Tunisia in 1912 of Victor Hayoun and Rachel Haggege Hayoun and brought his family to Paris in 1967, after the Israeli Six-Day War made life difficult for the Jews of Tunisia.  He is survived by his spouse, son Sylvain and daughter-in-law Pam Hayoun, two other children and nine grandchildren, including Jessica, David and Daniel Hayoun.

Sylvain has been with his family in France since last Friday.  A shiva minyan at the Hayoun home here in Boulder is tentatively scheduled for Monday morning December 20th at 7:15 am.  Check with Pam at 720-352-7460 or here on the BJN for any schedule changes.

May his memory be for a blessing and may HaShem comfort his family among the mourners of Zion.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
