Sexy Shabbos with Dr. Jenni
Whether solo or partnered, young or old, Jewish or not, if you live in the United States of America, it’s not easy to escape Valentine’s Day. Stemming from Christian doctrine, Valentine’s Day was established in 496 AD for partners to express romantic love for one another. I guess the first Pope Gelasius missed the concept of a weekly Shabbos to do just that. Nevertheless, it’s easier to accept holidays rather than resist them. (Same goes for chocolate by the way). So since Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, let’s brainstorm how we can take full advantage of this particular holiday.
1) Stretch out Shabbos through Sunday.
At least consider extrapolating all the sensual and sexy activities you normally reserve for the Shabbos, and spread them through Sunday evening.
2) Set up a sensual date.
If single, set a date with yourself. Take a warm bath with oils; dance in your living room in front of big mirrors; cook a flavorful meal; and explore your body as you fall in love with your fabulous self. If you are in a relationship or marriage, consider doing the same thing if your bathtub is big enough. If not, take turns in the bath and massage the feet of the person in the water. Then proceed with the mirrors, meals, and body exploration.
3) Send text messages.
Yes, in the age of electronic intimacy, courtship and flirting often manifest best via sexy texts. Play with your creative potential and see how aroused you can make another person with 130 characters. Then do it again an hour later.
4) Do a coupon exchange.
I don’t mean coupons from King Soopers. Make your own love coupons. If your partner likes acts of service, make a coupon for five nights of dishwashing. If your partner likes physical touch, make a coupon for an hour of erotic massage. If your partner likes words of affirmation, make a coupon with a personal love poem dedicated to him or her.
5) Breakfast in bed.
One partner may want to spearhead this effort, or it can be a team project for which you both carve out time. Even if you have kids, wake up a little early, or put them in front of cartoons for an hour. Then throw together some eggs with your favorite fruit smoothie and warm, buttery croissants. Bring it back to your bedroom and let the meal melt in your mouth.
6) Go shopping.
Yes gentlemen, shopping can be super fun, especially when the location is a classy and sophisticated adult store. If you are looking to spice up your relationship, or just have some out-of-the-box fun, venture over to an adult store and explore all the fun products on display. If you are feeling very daring, bring your wallet in too.
7) Chocolate.
When all else fails, dark chocolate goodness always comes to the rescue.
Have a sexy Shabbos and a fun Valentine’s day.
