MoVeRs: Soccer and Political Powerhouses

Two terrific MoVeRs programs this week, including Tuesday night’s “Out of the Classroom and Onto the Field:  Jews & Soccer” at Catacombs Bar (Hotel Boulderado), co-sponsored by SoulFood and the Program in Jewish Studies at CU.

Thurday night is “Political Powerhouses: Three Women Who Did Not Stand Idly By.”  Join CU Professor Zilla Goodman for a discussion that examines the lives of three remarkable Jewish mavericks: Henrietta Szold, Manya Shochat and Rosa Luxemburg. Although undeniably different in so many respects, these political powerhouses were figures who contributed much to the political and social thought in the first half of the 20th century in Israel and Europe.  7 PM at the Dennis Small Cultural Center, University Memorial Center, 4th Floor, University of Colorado at Boulder.  Co-sponsored by Hadassah and the Program in Jewish Studies at CU.  Free and open to the public.

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
