Menorah's upcoming event "Bialywood: From Bombay to Boulder" honors Jerry Pinsker on December 5. Click the headline for more about this fun-raising event.

Bialywood: From Bombay to Boulder

There are so many reasons to come to Bialywood: From Bombay to Boulder, I don’t know where to start!

Let’s start with the pleasure principle: The event will be great fun, with amazing Bollywood film clips, dancing, music, great food catered by Bombay Bistro, and wonderful company. Oh yes, mango martinis, silent auction, henna and more.

Now on to the community building: Menorah is dedicated to creating connections and strengthening Jewish engagement through cultural arts and education. Come show your support at a lively event that reflects our mission.

Pinsker 1Finally the human hook: It’s hard to think of anyone who has done more for our community, or Menorah, than Jerry Pinsker, outgoing board president, who is being honored. As many of you know, Jerry Pinsker has been an integral part of our Jewish community for many years. Just to recount a few of his many roles: he has served as Bonai Shalom President, Board Member, Religious School Director; Facilities Manager at Bonai Shalom and now at the BJCC; he teaches at Hebrew High and is actively responsible for the ADL “No Place For Hate” in our public schools. We have all benefited enormously from his time, energy and good spirits.

If you need any more reasons why you should come to Bialywood, let us know and we’ll personally call you with more persuasive arguments. How can you resist?
Please let me know you’ll join us Saturday, Dec. 5th, 6 pm at the Avalon Ballroom.
Menorah is also holding a silent auction, please call me if your business would like to make a donation for the auction.

Art is always intertwined with the social, and political worlds of its creation. In this program, Professor Willa M. Johnson will tell the stories of political dissidents and Jewish men, women, and children who were interned across Europe, including in the pre-war German city of Düsseldorf and in three war-period French camps, using the work of the German Communist artist Karl Schwesig and a chorus of archival data.
