It’s hard to think of anyone who has done more for our community than Jerry Pinsker, Menorah’s outgoing board president, who is being honored at Bialywood: From Bombay to Boulder on Saturday, December 5 at the Avalon Ballroom.
As Menorah’s former director and current president, Jerry has helped craft the wonderful cultural arts and educational programs we all enjoy. Although he is being honored for the energy he has put into this organization, in truth he deserves the honoring for so much more.
Jerry served as Bonai Shalom President from 1985-1987, was on the Bonai board for an astounding 25 years, was chair of the Education Committee for 9 years, and spent four years as office manager. He chaired the Synagogue 2000 committee, served twice on the rabbi search committee – and was on the building committee when the building was first built in 1987.
He has been teaching at Hebrew High for five years where his anti-Semitism class has been extremely popular. Jerry has been on the Boulder ADL steering committee since its inception in 2002 and is actively responsible for the “No Place for Hate” programs at Manhattan and Southern Hills. He’s also been a trainer for A World of Difference Institute since 2005.
As facilities manager at the Boulder JCC for the past five years, Jerry keeps the building together with duct tape and optimism. Jerry has done all this with humor and humility. We have all benefited enormously from his time, energy and unfailing good spirits. Our kids love Jerry, and so do we. I hope you will come help us celebrate this amazing man and show him how much we appreciate all he has done to enrich our community. You won’t want to miss embarrassing him with this much-deserved tribute!
Please sign up today for Bialywood by contacting Menorah Director Kathryn Bernheimer at 303-998-1021, kathryn@boulderjcc.org, or visit www.boulderjcc.org to register on-line.
See you at Bialywood, where we will not only honor Jerry but also learn some Bollywood dance moves, watch Bollywood film clips, enjoy an Indian feast catered by Bombay Bistro and imbibe mango punch, get a henna tattoo, shop at the silent auction and spend time with our friends.
Jerry's our main man…we, at the Menorah Board, are so proud of him. Hope you'll join us for this fun event and give him a well-deserved pat on the back.
