MoVeRs and Menorah present Seismic Shifts: Modern Jewish Ideologies and Movements, with Professor William Safran.  This four-week class will cover radical new developments in Jewish thought and practice from the 17th through the 20th century.  It will be held Thursdays in March at 7 pm at the Boulder Jewish Community Center, 3800 Kalmia St. The cost is $15 per session drop-in; $54 for all four sessions.  You can register here for the series.

Professor William Safran

William Safran is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He has written numerous articles and published 12 books, most recently Politics in Europe (4th ed., 2007), The French Polity (7th ed., 2008), and Transnational Migrations (2009). He has taught at City University of New York, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and the universities of Bordeaux, Grenoble, and Nice, France. He is the editor of the quarterly Nationalism and Ethnic Politics.
