Launch Event for Hebrew Circle Calendar

Special launch event for MISAVIV, the Hebrew Circle Calendar, a beautiful new approach to seeing and navigating the Jewish year, featuring 14 original illustrations, calligraphy in Hebrew and English, and an innovative and useful new design for moving circularly through the month.

Time moves in circles, not only in lines.

MiSaviv: Hebrew Circle Calendar offers a new old path for the Jewish year–new because the design comes from our time; old because the Hebrew calendar is rich in cycles and only recently came to be represented in conventional tables or lines.

When we remember that every month is a full cycle of the moon, every year is a full cycle of the sun, and the holidays and seasons are fully intertwined, the symmetries and correspondences in our lives dance into vision.  We return to the same place on the calendar, the same place in the Torah, and we remember–but we are changed.  The miraculous spiral that we have been handed intact from our ancestors now invites us, with the vision of its 13 contributing artists, to walk with it in time, and reconnect to the spiral journey of the soul.

Publisher Jorian Polis Schutz will speak about the project and circular  time in Jewish thought, and Morah Yehudis Fishman will offer a circular dvar Torah. See www.circlecalendar.com

Tuesday, August 25, 6:307:30 pm at Bonai Shalom, 1527 Cherryvale Rd. Boulder, Co, 80303
