Boulder Stars Premier at Community Carnival

Hamentashen

This year Lubavitch of Boulder County is offering every child of the Boulder Community a chance to play a part in the Purim Story.

Instead of passively watching Purim be celebrated they can be part of the story.  According to Chany Scheiner, “Why watch the movie if you can be part of it?”

If you want to participate, all you need to do is email them good “mug shots” – passport type pictures of the desired actors and Chabad will enter the photos into a customized Purim slide show. Costumes are not necessary.  The faces in the photos will be the faces of the “characters” of the Purim story (except of course for Haman and Vashti, which are considered not appropriate for a Jewish child to emulate).

The slide show will premiere at the Eighth Annual Boulder Community Purim Carnival on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Boulder JCC, 3800 Kalmia Ave., Boulder. Each star will become a component in an interactive Bingo game played by the audience.

If you have any Boulder “idols,” you are asked to email their photos to lbkosher@gmail.com as soon as possible as there are only a few remaining slots left in the slideshow.

Don’t miss the Purim Carnival at the Boulder JCC, enjoyment for the entire family, carnival games, face painting and prizes and much more.  For more information, pre-sale tickets, or to volunteer contact karli@sherwinter.com or Jodi Basch at jodibasch@gmail.com
