Tonight: ADL and BJCC Present “Off and Running”

The Boulder JCC‘s Maimonides Wellness Center and the Anti-Defamation League’s Boulder Office are pleased to sponsor a showing of the moving documentary film “Off and Running” on Wednesday, June 15 at 7:00 pm at the Boulder JCC.

With white, Jewish lesbian mothers and two adopted brothers, Brooklyn teen Avery grows up in a unique and loving household.  When her curiosity about her African-American  roots grows, Avery embarks on a complicated exploration of race, identity and family that threatens to distance her from her parents and Jewish identity.  This tough-minded documentary follows Avery to the brink of adulthood, exploring the strength of family bonds and the lengths that people must go to to become…themselves.

Therapist Diane Israel and Boulder ADL Director Amy Stein will lead a discussion following the film on identity, culture and Jewishness.
