Boulder JCC Announces Interim Exec

Susan Rona, named Interim Executive Director of the Boulder JCC.

The board of the Boulder Jewish Community Center (JCC) has appointed Susan Rona as its Interim Executive Director, effective August 15, 2010.  Rona replaces Linda Loewenstein who is retiring after 10 years at the post.

Susan is the ideal choice to replace me in this interim position,”  said Loewenstein who has worked closely with Rona in areas such as Reflections (the JCC’s primary fundraiser event) and its capital campaign.  “She knows the organization and its staff and can provide the most seamless transition.”

Rona has most recently served as Vice President of the JCC board.  She steps down from that position temporarily while taking on the Executive Director duties.  Rona has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.  For 10 years she managed 40 attorneys in the environmental claims department of AIG.  In 2006 she moved with her husband and two children to Niwot, CO.  In 2008 and 2009 she organized and ran Reflections for the JCC.  In March 2009 she joined the JCC board and in August 2009 she was appointed to the VP role.

I am thrilled to bring my passion and knowledge of the Boulder JCC to this position,” said Rona.  “I will be working closely with Linda Loewenstein over the next few weeks in order to guarantee a smooth transition.”

To contact Susan after August 15, email ed@boulderjcc.org, or call 303-449-3996.  The JCC board is conducting a nation-wide search for a permanent Executive Director.
